316LMOD is urea grade stainless steel 724L/1.4435.
Urea steel and 316Lmod are stainless steels developed for urea production on the basis of 316L
Additional restrictions have been placed on the minimum content of Cr, Ni, and Mo; The purpose is to make stainless steel undergo
final heat treatment. After obtaining a fully austenitic structure, the ferrite content should not exceed 0.6%, while also exhibiting a
tendency towards intergranular corrosion. Requirements have been proposed for testing and selective corrosion.

Description and Application:
316l mod is modified 316l, an improved 316l, which is specially used in the urea industry, so it is called urea grade 316l.
The main difference from 316l is the chemical composition. The purpose of adjusting the composition is to fully suppress
the ferrite content in the steel and obtain a full austenite structure as much as possible, so as to improve the intergranular
corrosion resistance and selective corrosion resistance of the steel. Both urea grade stainless steels are subject to Hugh’s
test and selective corrosion test. The test conditions are very harsh, and it is difficult for ordinary stainless steel to pass.
The chemical composition of 316mod and 316l is not very different. 316mod must pass the Huey test. During the 48-hour
boiling corrosion test, the corrosion value of 5 samples is not less than 0.54gr/m2hr (3.3 microns/48 hours).
